About the Journal

FEDPOD  Journal of Multidisciplinary Innovations and Perspectives (FEDPOD JMIP) is the first official journal of Federal Polytechnic  Ohodo Enugu,  Nigeria.  FEDPOD  JMIP  was established in November, 2024. It is an open-access, peer-reviewed bi- annual journal. 

The mission of FEDPOD JMIP is to advance knowledge and foster innovations by providing a platform for scholars, researchers, and professionals to share their findings, experiences, innovations, insights and perspectives on various aspects of research. It aims to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity while contributing to the socio-economic advancement of the society.

The objective and scope of FEDPOD JMIP include to publish high-quality articles that cover a broad range of themes in engineering, science, technology, social and management sciences, arts, humanities, and vocational studies. FEDPOD JMIP aims to disseminate scientific and technological innovations with potential impacts, as well as provide perspectives on contemporary issues and fundamental knowledge across disciplines, thereby promoting collaboration, exchange of ideas, and advancement of knowledge.

The editorial board is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity, rigour, and excellence. The target is to publish original research articles, review articles, case studies, and other scholarly works that meet the highest standards of academic excellence. All submissions to FEDPOD JMIP will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure that they meet quality standards. The editorial team, comprising distinguished scholars and experts in their fields, ensures that all submissions undergo rigorous peer review to guarantee the quality and validity of the published content.

Since the establishment of FEDPOD  JMIP, it has published 1st and 2nd editions: FEDPOD JMIP Volume  1,  Issue  1  and 2, and FEDPOD JMIP Volume  2,  Issue  1  and 2. These editions received 100% sponsorship from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).

Open Access Policy: FEDPOD JMIP is an open access journal. All articles published in this journal are freely available online immediately upon publication. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles for academic and non-commercial purposes, provided proper attribution is given to the author(s) and the journal. The journal operates under the principle that making research freely available supports the global exchange of knowledge.

Peer Review Policy: FEDPOD JMIP operates a double-blind peer review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening to assess suitability, originality, and compliance with journal scope and guidelines. Suitable manuscripts are then reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field. The identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process. Editorial decisions are based on academic merit, originality, methodological soundness, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Possible editorial decisions include to Accept; Accept with minor revisions; Accept with major revisions or Reject.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement: FEDPOD JMIP adheres to internationally accepted standards of publication ethics and is committed to ensuring integrity in scholarly publishing. Therefore, responsibilities of authors include to submit original work not previously published or under consideration elsewhere; to properly cite all sources and references; avoid plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification; ensure all listed authors contributed significantly to the research and disclose any conflict of interest.

Responsibilities of Editors include to make publication decisions based on academic merit. Ensure fairness, confidentiality, and impartiality, avoiding conflicts of interest while maintaining the integrity of the academic record. On their part, the reviewers are required to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations, maintain confidentiality of manuscripts, declare conflicts of interest and identify relevant uncited work.

Plagiarism Policy: FEDPOD JMIP maintains a strict anti-plagiarism policy. All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with plagiarism above 15% may be rejected, while manuscripts with severe plagiarism will be rejected outright. Therefore, authors are responsible for ensuring originality of their work.
